Google Business Profile FAQ
Choosing someone to help with your Google Business Profile is an important decision. Below are answers to the questions I hear most often from home-service business owners. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact me before purchasing a package.
Do I need to give you my Google password?
No. Usually, you’ll simply add Fishes + Loaves Digital as a Manager of your Google Business Profile. You remain the owner of your profile and can change or remove my access whenever you choose. You’ll never be asked to share your Google password.
What if I don’t know who owns my Google Business Profile?
That’s more common than you might think. Sometimes a former employee, web designer, marketing company, or family member created the profile years ago. If you’re unsure who owns it, I’ll help you determine the best path to regain access whenever possible.
My business doesn’t have a storefront. Can I still have a Google Business Profile?
Yes. Many plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies, lawn care businesses, roofers, pressure washing companies, cleaners, and other contractors operate as service-area businesses. Your profile can be set up to show the areas you serve without displaying your home address to the public.
I claimed my profile years ago. Isn’t that enough?
Claiming your profile is only the first step.
As your business changes, your Google Business Profile should change with it. New services, updated photos, current hours, review responses, and accurate service areas all help present your business more clearly to potential customers.
Can you guarantee higher rankings or more phone calls?
No. Anyone who promises you perfect results is being untruthful.
Google controls its search results, and no consultant can honestly guarantee rankings, calls, or revenue. My job is to help you build a stronger, more complete, and more accurate Google Business Profile that gives your business the best opportunity to be found and chosen.
How long does the process take?
That depends on the package you choose.
The Foundations Package is generally completed more quickly than projects requiring implementation. Monthly management is an ongoing service. I’ll provide an estimated timeline before work begins so you’ll know what to expect.
Which package should I choose?
If you’re comfortable making changes yourself, the Foundations Package gives you a professional audit and a clear action plan.
If you’d rather have the approved improvements completed for you, choose the Growth Package.
If you want someone to keep your profile updated throughout the year, the Momentum Package is the best choice.
If you’re still unsure, contact me, and I’ll recommend the option that fits your business—not simply the most expensive package.
What happens after I purchase a package?
Once your purchase is complete, you’ll receive clear instructions for the next steps.
You’ll complete a short questionnaire, add me as a Manager of your Google Business Profile, and provide any information or photos needed for your project. I’ll keep you informed throughout the process, and you’ll always know what happens next.
Can you help with a suspended Google Business Profile?
It depends on the reason for the suspension.
Some suspensions are straightforward to resolve, while others require documentation or additional work. If your profile has been suspended, contact me with a brief description of the situation and I’ll let you know whether it’s something I can assist with.
Do I need a website?
A website isn’t required to have a Google Business Profile, but having one can strengthen your overall online presence and give potential customers more information about your business.
If you already have a website, I’ll review how well it aligns with your Google Business Profile and note any important inconsistencies.
What if I have more than one location?
Businesses with multiple Google Business Profiles can absolutely be supported.
Additional location setup and monthly management are available as optional add-on services. If your business has several locations, we’ll discuss the best approach before work begins.
Will you make changes without asking me first?
No. Any recommendations that involve significant changes to your profile will be discussed with you before they’re implemented. I want you to understand what’s being changed and why, so you’re always comfortable with the work being completed.
